Holy Cow I Am Tired

Week 7
Planned: 9:30 total hours (1:30 swim, 4:45 bike, 1:30 run, 1:45 brick)
Completed: 10:17 hours (1:24 swim, 4:46 bike, 2:22 run, 1:45 brick)

So I may have committed a bit of a tactical error with my training. After coming off a 9+ hour week last week, instead of taking my normal Monday rest day I went straight into my next 6 days of training. Why? Not because my legs weren't tired. Not because I thought it was a great idea. Because, given the family calendar, I needed to have Sunday off this week. So I moved my Sunday workout to the previous Monday. Seemed totally logical - but try telling my legs that.

I survived. It definitely wasn't pretty, especially when instead of a 45 minute run on Thursday my run coach had us doing a 90 minute run. I think that was definitely the low point of the week. In hindsight, I should probably have kept my day off and just done three doubles to condense the week into five days. Something to remember …

Funny thing is, now that it's behind me - even though I know that I was tired, downright exhausted, for most of the week - it doesn't seem as bad. Really, what I most remember is how great my run was to finish off my brick yesterday. Having today off seems almost strange, and I can totally wrap my head around hopping on my bike again tomorrow. Strange, right?

Now I'm starting to look ahead - to a recovery week (woohoo!), to warmer weather, and to my first warm-up tri in 3 weeks. 3 weeks!!! Can't believe how close it is. Have absolutely no idea what to expect of myself, which in the past has been a good thing. Can't wait to find out what happens.
